This year’s edition of the European Robotic Urology Symposium (ERUS), that took place from 23 to 25 September at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Conference Center in Padua, has again turned into a great success.
The round-table discussions, lectures, poster and video presentations, and certainly the live-surgery sessions at the highest scientific level, offered unique educational opportunities for 390 urological surgeons, residents and other healthcare professionals from 35 countries all over the world.
On the first day, we welcomed nearly 200 urologists in four parallel courses with oral and video presentations on robotic surgery in urology, elucidating step-by-step procedures and practical tips & tricks.
On day two and three, 11 live surgeries performed by international top-surgeons at the University Hospital of Padua could be followed live in the auditorium of the congress hotel. The live surgery sessions, covering both established surgical techniques and new robotic procedures for minimal invasive surgery were very well received by the audience.
The social programme provided opportunities for networking against Padua’s attractive background. During the Welcome and the Gala dinner new contacts were forged, old contacts renewed.
We would like to thank all participants for their contribution to the success of the 6th edition of the ERUS in Padua and hope that it has been a valuable educational and social experience for each one of you. We particularly acknowledge all industry sponsors for facilitating this excellent meeting.
If you are interested in hosting a future ERUS-congress, you can find an overview of the main criteria for organization and an application form, from the ERUS Society’s website: www.europeanroboticurologysociety.com.
The success of the ERUS’09 meeting underlines the need for an annual platform for healthcare professionals and experts where new and established techniques in robotic urological surgery are highlighted. Therefore, we sincerely hope to welcome you and your colleagues again from 29 September to 1 October 2010 at the 7th edition of the ERUS in Bordeaux, France (www.erus2010.com).
